Kilkenny Sandstone – Guillotined Building Stone
Kilkenny Limestone, as the name suggests, derives from County Kilkenny. This is a black/charcoal coloured stone with silica through the stone which sparkles when the sun shines.
This can be purchased with stone sawn top and bottom or as guillotined random rubble. The sawn stone is much more square and lends itself well to a dry joint and more modern build. The random rubble is suitable for a more natural random build style.
It is recommended that a stonemason builds this stone as the stone shape will vary and requires ‘dressing’ when building. It is important to have your quote approved by your stonemason prior to order.
