Leitrim Sandstone is a distinctive sedimentary rock found predominantly in County Leitrim, Ireland. Known for its durability and natural beauty, this sandstone is composed mainly of quartz grains, often bound with silica or iron oxide, giving it hues that range from pale yellow to rich reddish-brown. Historically, it has been used in construction and ornamental work, prized for its ease of carving and weather resistance. This can be purchased as guillotined rubble. This is suitable for a more natural random build style.

It is recommended that a stonemason builds this stone as the stone shape will vary and requires ‘dressing’ when building. It is important to have your quote approved by your stonemason prior to order.
